By accessing or using SnappyLists (snappylists.com) and its associated services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SnappyLists ("we", "us", or "our").

SnappyLists is a list-making platform that allows users to create and manage: • Gift lists for events (birthdays, weddings, baby showers, holidays). • Gift exchanges (Secret Santa) with customizable rules. • Potluck event lists with optional AI-powered dish suggestions. • Shareable collaborative lists (groceries, to-do, etc.) — available with a premium subscription. • Recipe collections with optional AI-powered generation and editing — certain features require a premium subscription. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

To use certain features, you must create an account by providing your name, email address, and a password. You agree to: • Provide accurate and complete information. • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials. • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

SnappyLists offers both free and premium subscription tiers. Free accounts have access to gift lists, gift exchanges, potlucks, and limited recipe features. Premium subscriptions unlock shareable lists, unlimited recipes, AI recipe generation, and import/follow features. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to: • Pay the applicable subscription fees (monthly or annual) as displayed at the time of purchase. • Authorize recurring charges until you cancel. • Cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal accessible from your account page. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice.

You retain ownership of all content you create on SnappyLists, including lists, items, recipes, and uploaded images ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit your User Content as necessary to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and agree not to upload content that: • Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights. • Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. • Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code. We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms.

You agree not to: • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose. • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems. • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to it. • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service through automated means without authorization. • Impersonate any person or entity. • Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code. • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications. • Circumvent any access restrictions or security measures.

SnappyLists uses artificial intelligence (powered by Google Gemini) to generate potluck suggestions and recipe content. AI-generated content is provided "as-is" for convenience and inspiration. You acknowledge that: • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs. • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated suggestions before use, especially regarding food allergies, dietary restrictions, and safety. • We are not liable for any harm resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by SnappyLists and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent. Recipes and lists you create remain your intellectual property. However, if you choose to make recipes public, other users may view and interact with them as permitted by the Service's features.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SNAPPYLISTS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 CAD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SnappyLists and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: • Your use of the Service. • Your violation of these Terms. • Your User Content. • Any third-party claims related to content you share or post through the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14 shall survive any termination of these Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Canada.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
