SnappyLists ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website snappylists.com and associated services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our platform. By using SnappyLists, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our services. The categories of information we collect are detailed below.

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is securely hashed and stored by our authentication provider (Supabase). We also store your language preference (English or French) and subscription status.

When you use our services, we collect the data you provide for your lists, including: • Gift lists: item names, descriptions, prices, product URLs, categories, and reservation details. • Gift exchanges (Secret Santa): participant names, email addresses, exchange rules, and assignment data. • Potlucks: item names, quantities, categories, notes, and reservation details. • Shareable lists: item names, categories, and check-off status. • Recipes: recipe names, descriptions, ingredients, cooking steps, serving sizes, and notes.

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. We store only your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription. Stripe collects and processes your payment method, billing address, and transaction history in accordance with their privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).

You may upload images (JPG or PNG, up to 3 MB) for gift items, recipes, and list covers. These images are stored securely in our cloud storage (Supabase Storage) and are accessible via generated URLs.

We use the information we collect to: • Provide, maintain, and improve our services. • Manage your account and subscription. • Process reservations and share list data with invited participants. • Send transactional emails (invitations, reservation confirmations, shared list notifications). • Generate AI-powered suggestions for potluck items and recipes (using anonymized, non-personal data). • Comply with legal obligations.

SnappyLists uses Google Gemini AI to power certain features, including potluck dish suggestions and recipe generation/editing. When you use these features, we send only the relevant content data (such as a theme, ingredient list, or recipe text) along with your language preference to the AI service. We do not send your name, email, or any personally identifiable information to the AI provider. Google processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

We use the following third-party services to operate SnappyLists: • Supabase: Database hosting, user authentication, and file storage (https://supabase.com/privacy). • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions (https://stripe.com/privacy). • Google Gemini: AI-powered content generation (https://policies.google.com/privacy). • Resend: Transactional email delivery (https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

We maintain a presence on social media platforms including TikTok, where we may share promotional content, tips, and updates about SnappyLists. Our social media accounts are operated by us and are not integrated into the SnappyLists platform. We do not collect any personal data from you through our social media activity. Your interactions with our social media posts (likes, comments, shares) are governed by the respective platform's privacy policy and terms of service.

We send transactional emails related to your use of the platform, including event invitations, reservation confirmations, shared list invitations, and gift exchange messages. These emails are sent via our email service provider (Resend) from noreply@snappylists.com. Emails may contain the recipient's name, event/list names, the host's name, and action links. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only in the following circumstances: • With other users you invite to your lists or events (limited to the information necessary for that feature). • With our third-party service providers as described above, solely to deliver our services. • If required by law, legal process, or governmental request. • To protect the rights, safety, or property of SnappyLists, our users, or others.

We use browser cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session, store your language preference, and enable core functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law. List data associated with your account (items, recipes, etc.) will also be deleted.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Request correction of inaccurate data. • Request deletion of your data. • Withdraw consent for data processing. • Export your data in a portable format.
